The Honest Company // Review

Mar 4, 2014

Hi everyone! I hope you're all doing great and having a lovely week so far! I wanted to do a quick little show and tell on a few little goodies that I received in the mail not to long ago. I was browsing online for baby things (exciting!) and came across The Honest Co. If you didn't know, this company is founded by Jessica Alba and it is a safe, natural, non-toxic, eco-friendly line of products for babies and for everyday items. I've actually heard of this company before but never actually tried any of the products. They were offering a free trial and all I had to pay for was the shipping so I thought that it was a pretty good deal! First, I love the packaging and how everything is boxed! So cute! All of the items in the 'free trial' package are are trial sized obviously and if you like the products you have the option to subscribe monthly and get different items every month for a set fee. I haven't looked too much into that since I'm still testing out all of the products but it's something I might consider!

I was surprised that none of the products really have a smell at all. It's all very very neutral. I have yet to test out the laundry detergent, the hand soap, or the body wash & shampoo but I'm working my way to them! I have used the lotions and I have to say they are incredibly moisturizing! I was actually shocked at how silky it made my skin feel. However, I do like a scent so I'm not sure if I really like that it doesn't smell like anything. I'm planning on testing out the detergent next time I do laundry (if I can remember to use it!) so we will see how I end up liking that. Overall, I love that their products are so safe and that you don't have to worry about harsh chemicals. It's hard to find companies like that!

If you're interested in the free trial, hop on over to their website HERE and take a look at what they offer!

Professional Makeup Haul

Jan 1, 2014

Hi loves! Recently I went on a bit of a makeup spending spree to restock my professional makeup kit for when I do work on clients. I ended up spending about $150 on everything but I have to say that I am so pleased with everything that has arrived so far. I 'm still expecting one more box that should get here today! But I wanted to share with you all the goodies that I have received so far!

I went ahead and decided to bite the bullet and splurge on a Graftobian HD 18 shade foundation palette. I got it in the Warm palette but they have a cool and neutral palette that I am going to end up purchasing as well. These foundations are perfect for in front of the camera. They blend so well and are incredibly creamy and even though it looks like there isn't much product in the palette, a little definately goes a long way with these. I love that it comes with 18 different shades simply for the fact that it makes it so much easier to color match clients' skin tones. If you end up running out of a shade, they sell the individual colors seperately. So that's nice. I got this for about $60 and I would seriously recommend these to any makeup artist looking for a great foundation palette!

The next thing I got was a Stilla lip palette. I love Stilla products and when I saw this I knew I had to have it. The colors are so gorgeous and pigmented! I use a lip brush and apply whatever shade I choose over a lipliner and the color payoff is insane. Stilla has a few other lip palettes with different shades that I'm considering getting in the future!

The next two things I purchased because I've been wanting to test them out for quite sometime. The first is the Ben Nye Neutral Set Colorless Powder. It's basically just a setting or finishing powder to apply once you've finished your makeup. I've tested it out and even though it's a pretty small bottle, you really only need a tiny bit to brush over the whole face. I like it quite a bit! It adds a really pretty soft finish to your makeup and helps give a finished look. I believe this was only about $6, so of course I couldn't resist!

The last little beauty is the Model in a Bottle setting spray. OH. MY. GOSH. This spray is seriously the absolute best setting spray I have ever used. After applying my makeup in the morning, I spray this all over my face and let it set for about 20 seconds or so. A lot of people in the reviews on this product have complained about the smell, but honestly I thought it smelled pretty good! But I might just be weird. My makeup lasted all day and night without one smudge or anything out of place. It looked the same as when I applied it in the morning. I am definately going to be using this on brides!

All of the products I reviewed I purchased from Camera Ready Cosmetics.com. If you're looking for really great deal on HD and professional makeup, I would give this site a look through! They have all kinds of brands for amazing prices.

I hope you all enjoyed my little haul. As I said in the post, I have another package coming today (hopefully!) with a bunch more items that I purchased so as soon as those come in I will be popping up a review for you guys!

Crown Brush HD Set // Review

Dec 28, 2013

Hi dolls! I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and have been enjoying all their gifts! A few weeks before Christmas time I was sent this lovely brush set to review from Crown Brush. It's their HD Professional Brush Set* and it comes in 3 different colors to choose from; white and blue, purple, and orange. I absolutely adore this set! I think the colors are so cute and bright and I love that it comes in a cute little zipper case. The tools included in this set are a pair of tweezers, a pro powder brush, a tapered brush, deluxe contour brush, a crease blender, chisel shadow brush, and a detail liner brush. I have been using this set for the last few weeks and I really love it so far! The brushes are soft but dense enough to hold product and they apply smoothly to the skin.

You can get them on the Crown Brush website for about $27.

Have you tried this set before?

Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder // Review

Dec 2, 2013

Hi dolls! Today I'm reviewing one of my new favorite products, the Laura Mercier Matte Radiance Baked Powder in Highlight. Before I talk anymore about it, I want to apologize if some of the pictures are a little sloppy. This packaging is one of the hardest to photograph! On top of that, having no sun during the day doesn't help much either, but hopefully most of them aren't too awful.

So enough of my rambling and on to the review! I picked this little beauty up at Sephora a few weeks ago when I was looking for some new products to try. Surprisingly I've never tried any Laura Mercier products (I know, right?) so I thought I would start out with this gorgeous highlight powder. The first thing that caught my attention was how big it is! For $36 you really get what you pay for. As for the packaging, I absolutely love it! It's a bit bulky, but it looks expensive and tasteful so I love taking it out of my bag and touching up my makeup with it throughout the day.

The highlight powder has a slight gold sheen to it so when applied to the cheeks it gives a beautiful warm glow to your face. I also love putting a little bit on my cupids bow as well to brighten it up a bit. I really adore this powder for the winter time simply because it's soft but adds just enough to brighten up your cheeks and anywhere else you want to highlight. I have so many highlight powders, but honestly, out of all of them this one is by far my favorite of them all. I am definately going to be trying out more of Laura Mercier's products as well!

Have you tried this powder?
